Radon Levels in Kingston: Health Risks and Study Findings

KFL&A Public Health analyzed 1,047 radon tests in Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A), finding that 21% of homes exceeded Health Canada’s guideline of 200 Bq/m³ for radon levels. Alarmingly, 52% were above the World Health Organization’s recommended level of 100 Bq/m³. The study, conducted from November 2018 to February 2019, revealed that the proportion of homes with high radon levels in KFL&A is nearly five times the provincial average. Dr. Kieran Moore emphasized that radon levels vary by home, and testing is the only way to know your risk. At Radon Control Solutions, we provide expert radon testing and mitigation services in Kingston and surrounding areas, including Napanee, Tyendinaga, Gananoque, and Brockville ensuring your home is safe from this hazardous gas.
